Surveys
Ecological surveys onsite have been ongoing since 2017, the findings of which will be detailed in a Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA-R) which will accompany the application.
Assessment
A detailed Environmental Impact Assessment Report has been produced, covering a wide range of topics. The scope of this assessment was consulted on with various relevant consultees via the Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit.
Consultation
A programme of online and interative consultation, including virtual exhibitions, has taken place.
Application
Owing to the anticipated connected capacity of the scheme, an application for permission has been submitted to the Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit. Scottish Borders Council will however be an important consultee, along with NatureScot, SEPA, Historic Environment Scotland and various other bodies, as well as local communities. The application was submitted to the Energy Consents Unit on 27th October 2021.
Decision
Following the submission of a planning application, a decision will be reached by Scottish Ministers.
